Choo-Choo Train

Purpose: For people to provide positive input to one another. It can be a nice closer to a meeting or training session.

Group Size: Any number

Materials Needed:

  • One 8 1/2" by 11" piece of paper per person
  • One pen per person
  • Masking Tape

Set-Up:

  1. Tell people they are going to have a chance to find out what people are "saying" behind their backs.
  2. Tape a piece of paper on each person's back and give each person a pen.
  3. Ask them to write something positive about each person on their back (you may want to direct it toward something they learned about that person in the session, or something they appreciate about the person, or something else specific.)

This is called "choo-choo" because you will find people get lined up as they are writing on each other.

You may or may not want to debrief the activity.

The activity takes 15 to 30 minutes depending on the number of people. (Use at least one minutes per person as a rule of thumb.)
